(24th) John joins other Australian musicians in the Turn Back The Tide concert at Bondi beach, NSW to raise funds to fight beach pollution

(18th) John performs at the Indy Grand Prix concert on the Gold Coast

(10th) John performs at the Melbourne Grand Prix concert

1997

(20th) John and manager, Glenn Wheatley are the victims of a roast at a charity night to aid Parkinsons Syndrome

John hears Human Nature sing there and decides he would like to sing with them... hence, 'Everytime You Cry'


1998

John performs at a benefit concert for Marc Hunter at Selina's at Coogee Bay, Sydney to raise funds for Marc's cancer therapy.

(9th) Along with Olivia Newton-John and Anthony Warlow, John provides the entertainment for the Prime Ministers' Gala Dinner to welcome the Presidents' Cup Team at Crown Casino, Melbourne
