Sadie, the single, was John's first solo single and was released in November 1967. It went to No.1 in December for five weeks and sold approximately 180,000 copies in Australia. It was the largest selling single in Australia by an Australian artist in the 1960s. The B-side, 'In My Room', was written by John.
